Review : A heavier compactor of a different design
We have had a compactor since 1967. They normally last 10 years+. The last one though, a Whirlpool lasted only 2 years and that was a troublesome 2 years. I decided to replace it with the more expensive Broan with it's bigger motor.
My main complaint after a week's use. Instead of just kicking the toe piece and having the drawer pop out as other compactors build them you must open the cabinet door on the Broan, then bend over and pull out the drawer. No handle on the drawer either! What's with this? Open a door, bend over, pull out the drawer, throw your napkin in the bin, push the drawer shut, then close the drawer! I'm in my twilight years. Bending over is not high on my list of want to do things. What genius engineered that? Couldn't they at least have spring loaded the drawer so that it would pop out a bit when the door was opened?
Now the good part. The compactor cycle is quiet and VERY powerful! Sounds like a swiss watch with no squeaks and...
