The tub surround was ceramic tile that would have some damaged tiles after the retrofit of any new arrangement. This unit mounted so that all of the holes in the existing tiles were completely covered by the flat surface of the tower unit. The plumbing and installation instructions were easy to understand and the unit works flawlessly. In order to mount the unit so that the tub filling spout was not too high, the shower head would have been a little low for my son-in-law who is quite tall. We solved that problem by using one arm from the previous shower head as an extension to the arm that came with the unit. It fit perfectly without any alterations and allowed the shower head to be raised near the ceiling of the tub/shower area. We especially like the ability to use all of the outlets at one time. Installed the Pulse Showerspa with a complete master bathroom remodel. Installation requires removal of the existing fixtures and some re-pluming for the hot and cold water connections. Unless you have the tools and knowledge to perform the pluming yourself I recommend hiring a professional. Pulse provides two 90 degree connectors which attached to threaded pipe which are necessary for installation. Attaching the showerspa to the wall is pretty easy. After some careful measurements, you'll need to drill four holes in the tile, two to attach a mounting bracket for the base unit and two for the shower head rail.

The showerspa is easy to operate and looks very good on the shower wall. The detachable and height adjustable shower head has several dispensing settings, all pretty good.
