Review : Beautiful but Leaks after time
Purchased these Kohler faucets for our bathroom renovation. Beautiful design and quality finish. Our faucet has kept its finish.
However, our faucets after several years began to leak where the handle meets the base and at the bottom. We called several plumbers to repair the faucets and the response we got was put in a new faucet.
It appears the washers on these faucets go bad after a while and need to be replaced. To replace the washers the faucets need to be removed from the sink and disassembled.
Kohler does provide info on the parts on their web site, but it is disappointing after a few years these leak and all the plumbers are interested in is tossing it. Also Kohler's customer service personnel are helpful as well, but at this cost these faucets should last.
In my parents house they built and lived in for 38 years, the American Standard facuets never leaked. Perhaps it is today's quality is not as good as the 60s?
